Thura Aung
I am an undergraduate student in Software Engineering (Artificial Intelligence Track) at King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL), Thailand. I value research that goes beyond experimentation to building usable systems and resources. I have been involved in dataset creation, benchmarking, and model development, and I aim to lead projects that contribute practical tools or open-source resources for the community.
I have conducted research on Burmese NLP at NECTEC, worked on Southeast Asian large language models with AISG and VISTEC, and contributed to speech recognition systems at Looloo Tech. My work centers on building and evaluating models in data-scarce settings, with an emphasis on improving generalization and robustness.
I am fortunate to be supervised by Dr. Ye Kyaw Thu at NECTEC and the LU Lab, and Dr. Peerat Limkonchotiwat at AISG/NUS. I was also previously supervised by Asst. Prof. Dr. Titipat Achakulvisut and Dr. Zaw Thu Htet from Mahidol University during my work at Looloo Tech.
I am actively seeking MS-PhD or PhD opportunities and research collaborations in NLP and large language models.
